Midwest Fiber Arts Trails: May Textile Traveler

Dear Friends, Finally--the weather is decent outside again! I don't know about your household, but we spent last weekend cleaning the garage and opening the back porch for the season. Maybe a little early for flower planting in my neck of the woods since...

A new Fiber Arts Trail in Madison, Wisconsin

Dear Friends, Another Trail has begun! I almost said ‘another Trail was hatched’ because I always feel like they’re walking around on stick legs until they get a little more organized. We’re very lucky to have this group of fiber artists and shops. Madison is a city...

Mazomanie Knitting Mills: A Look into the Past

Threaded Streams’ 2018 Workshops Highlight: The Business of Fiber Art

Threaded Streams’ 2018 Workshops Highlight: The Business of Fiber Art

Our theme for the 2018 annual weekend event on the Threaded Streams Fiber Arts Trail is ‘experience your own creativity’. Char and Mariella, sisters who co-own Helen’s Daughters, are not teaching sewing technique classes (sewing is the primary method of making their handbags) but they are teaching the subject matter of how to run a fiber arts business.

The mission of Midwest Fiber Arts Trails is to honor the Midwest’s rich textile heritage and celebrate and promote the work of contemporary fiber artists.
