Just a few snapshots of Laura Weber’s studio space and baskets. Laura creates, sells and teaches workshops for functional and sculptural baskets and mixed media fiber art. Most of her work is plaited and twined, with varying patterns such as twill weave and randing. Currently she is focusing on using upcycled/recycled materials in her work, such as recycled copper wire, and recycled leather, including horse halters, harnesses and reins. Laura first learned basket making in the 1990’s but only started making ‘baskets as art’ in 2012. Laura is an award-winning, collaborative, active member of the local arts community. Visit Laura’s studio on the Cedarburg Spur Fiber Arts Trail on Grand Opening Weekend.
