How to get certified to rent by the hour:
Take our Beginner Longarm Class to learn how to use the longarm quilting machine. In this class, we will cover all the basics from maintenance to loading and how to quilt your quilts. You’ll walk away with confidence as a longarm quilter and you’ll be able to rent the machine in the future starting at $20/hour.

Beginner Longarm Machine Quilting Certification Class
You will need to take this class to be eligible to rent the quilting machine on a regular basis at Gray Horse Quilt Shop. Class will be approximately 3 hours.

During your beginner class, you will be quilting your own quilt. You can design or choose a preprinted pantograph pattern. Darcy recommends your quilt top be 70” X 70” or smaller to complete it during the scheduled class time. You are welcome to bring a larger quilt. (If so, you’ll be charged for time over the three hours at $10 per half hour.)

Supply List: Finished quilt top and prepared backing (backing and batting must be at least 3” longer than quilt top on all sides). Batting and other supplies are available for purchase in the shop. Thread for your quilting is included in your certification fee.
Certification Fee: $125.00 + tax. ($50 deposit is required.)
