Piecemakers Quilt Group was formed to encourage and support members in their quilting experience. It is a service group.

Our group has members who have been quilting for over 30 years and some very new quilters. We have service projects that we do each year and a raffle quilt that is done every two years. We make baby burp pads that are given to every baby born at Lakewood Health System in Staples. We have made over 4000 since we started giving them away.

Piecemakers also donates a quilted baby quilt to the first baby born each year at Lakewood. We have been doing that for over 20 years! The club also has made pillow covers for the Lakewood Senior Campus, about 200 quilts and 300 pillows for wounded heroes being transported by Airvac from forward areas to field hospitals in Afghanistan, and many quilts for the Linus Project.
