Howdy, Bonnie!Inspiration for the TGIF Day of the Week
Willow Wood Market Designs, Bemidji, Minnesota
Working with my hands calms my mind and brings me to a less complicated time. When I create, I see the hands of my mother, aunts and grandmother. The connection is strong to these hard working Scandinavian farm women who lovingly made useful and practical clothing, rugs and quilts as well as beautiful and intricate hardanger and crocheted pieces, all by using simple tools and materials. My designs are my tribute to honor these amazing women.
Bonnie Lundorff began her fiber arts journey when she was a young mom designing and making small framed quilts, selling them at shows, gift shops and galleries all over MN and North Dakota. In 1997 Lundorff opened Willow Wood Market, a quilt shop and fiber arts studio in a small cabin in the woods with no experience and a very strong desire to instill a love of quilting and stitching to anyone who came through the door. She now teaches and presents trunks shows of her designs at her shop and at fiber related events all over the upper Midwest.
Bonnie and her husband Tim live south of Bemidji, have three grown daughters, two sons in law, 5 beautiful grandchildren and one cranky little 15 year old dog.
