Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival

Wisconsin Sheep Breeders Co-op

The Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival was started by the Wisconsin Sheep Breeders Co-op over 25 years ago. Now, it’s one of the largest sheep and wool festivals in the Midwest. Three wonderful days are in store for you on the weekend after Labor Day at the Jefferson County Fair Park in Jefferson, Wisconsin. Fill your days with an array of activities at the multiple venues across the festival.

The Activity Center is the hub where you’ll see contests, auctions, Shepherd’s Workshops and Wool Show; topping that off with a Lamb Dinner on Saturday evening. Education abounds in the two buildings full of “Wonders of Wool” classes. Follow the sheep to the Sheep Barns and Stock Exchange and show ring.

The Country Store is located in two large show barns with over 130 exhibitors from across the country, offering everything from sheep supplies and products; baskets to drop spindles; yarn to jewelry; rug looms to roving.

One indoor arena houses the used equipment auction. The other indoor arena provides both sheep and education with displays and demonstrations throughout the festival. There is plenty of activity outside the buildings. Watch stock dogs from across the Midwest compete on the open field. Several knitting and fiber activities take place outside as well.

Visit all the areas of the festival and enjoy, even be amazed, at the diversity of the sheep industry and the enthusiasm of those who support it.
