Making gifts is always fun; especially when it can be combined with a book for a unique gift that reflects the personality of the person receiving it! These little ‘bookworms’ are a quick and easy gift that uses stash yarn or fiber. I decorated the bookworms with beads, charms and wood pendants. I think the glass beads on the orange bookworm cost more than everything else all together!
As you may guess, the bookworms are knit I-cords. Charms and beads are added by looping the tail through the C-ring and back up into the I-cord or pulling the tail through the bead and finishing it off another way. Beads, etc are added to the C-ring as desired. The patterns I wrote up for this exercise are available by clicking on the link below.
I’m making bookworms for my book club. Even though a bunch of us read via Kindle, they work great with magazines, journals. calendars and almost anywhere you need to ‘save a spot’.
