Description:

In bold stripes, seven colors form a gradient from steel blue to paprika. The stitch pattern visually forms three panels adding interest to the flat stockinette stitch background. The blanket was initially inspired by a color gradient garter stitch pattern, but I soon realized the type of yarn I purchased would look much better in a clean, flat color block. Using garter stitch to create panels and separate colors gives the composition visual relief while keeping the pattern simple to knit. I used solid colors instead of heathered tones. The numbers listed in the pattern are Plymouth Encore color numbers. I used one skein of each color. The pattern required about 60% of the skein. I’ve also included an image of the pattern prior to blocking. I washed and pinned the blanket flat to dry.
