KA thrum small

Isn’t this bulky confetti hand spun yarn fabulous? Kathy Anderson wove it into a purse and will have it to show (and for sale) at the Almanac Showcase coming up this weekend! She will also be on hand to show you how she wove the purse and how she creates beautiful confetti yarn. She’ll be there from 1-5 on Saturday with her loom.

Okay, so what is thrum, you ask? In weaving thrum is the uneven ends of warp thread that’s left after the finished piece is cut away. It’s sort of like fringe. Kathy took many pieces of thrum and spun them together to make this ‘hank’ of chunky, eclectic yarn.
